    • ]]>     The other day I posted a video of a four-legged robot named BigDog. That video has garnered over 700,000 views in a little over 36 hours – presumably not all from my blog. Why the massive interest? Cuz the thing is damn creepy! Not only does it have better balance than a real dog (or human, for that matter) but it is being developed for military use (creator Boston Dynamics is funded by DARPA) which brings all kinds of scary thoughts to mind. An armed BigDog in just about any scenario is something to be feared.

    Anyway, while looking around for other BigDog-related stuff, I came across a site devoted entirely to BigDog videos! It’s really just a small collection of YouTube videos of BigDog and its cousins… yes, BigDog is not alone. There’s LittleDog, RHex, and the startling RiSE.

    If you’re into robots, or just enjoy getting creeped out by military research, it’s worth the visit.
